      Are you using two browsers at the same time? I use Google Chrome and it has one search bar and one tabs bar. Nothing for the search bar to slip under. Maybe you have another browser added to Chrome. Check Tools, then extensions to see if this is what's happening. You can disable search engine add ons there.
