        installing hot water heater tank. there are three wire colors coming out of tank and house wall. I think you connect black to black and red to white to bring power to the heater. Correct?

        I am not an electrician. What brand and model hot water tank? I'll see if I can find the wiring schematics for you.

        Black to black and white to white. 


        But I would think you just plug it in to a properly wired outlet.
