When replacing a battery on newer model vehicles they have a system memory which runs off the battery. when you disconnect the battery you erase the vehicles memory (radio presets, clock, computer settings etc.) you can hook up a 9-volt battery to your cigarette lighter port before disconnecting the battery. that way you dont lose your car's ECU memory.
