That is not always the case. Some lesbians are very feminine and have (what would be considered to be) female occupations. Some homosexual males, are extremely masculine with "masculine jobs". As in the straight community, some go overboard to prove a point. Since I am not a part of the gay community, I am only expressing my opinion, based on observation and the very few gays that I have personally met.

Not all gay guys act like women. Some men lean more towards their feminine side, it's what they identify with best so they appear more feminine than masculine. This is not an act. They are not pretending to be something they are not. They are being themselves and how they feel on the inside. I had friends once where the wife was more dominant than her husband and her husband was very feminine in his actions. Complete roll reversal but they loved each other and got along fantastic. Best marriage I've ever encountered in my life. Feminine acting men and tough acting women does not happen because of sexuality in my opinion as you can find them in both the straight and gay worlds. 

Just because a man is gay, it does not mean he does not like women. He is simply drawn to another man emotionally and physically. Gay men make great friends to females because there is nothing limiting their friendship. A woman's boyfriend or husband could never get jealous over her friendship with a gay guy.
