People eat when they are bored, nervous, stressed, irritated. I think the idea of biting and chewing releases the aggressive feelings.
People don't eat because they are engrossed, trying to lose weight, don't have time, are depressed, too busy, or just forget.
Some people fall into both categories, such as me!
