If everyday was easy, you would never appreciate what you have. The rough times make the wonderful times, look even more wonderful. It seems to me that very often, the most pleasant people, are the ones who have been through some horrible experiences and yet, hold no bitterness. They just accept that life can be very difficult at times.

Thank you for those kind words but please understand that I am NOT always strong and smiling. I've had times when I've absolutely "collapsed" because of what life has thrown my way. That's when you need support from those closest to you. I have often kept things to myself and THAT has not been helpful for my well-being. So my additional advice would be to talk to someone whom you trust. Everyone needs a confidant to help with life's struggles and it has taken me a long time to learn to be less independent and instead, lean on someone...just a little. :)

The personal choice to be in-charge of my own life would have been better if I had not done that. God does a much better job, happier than what I tried to do. But options are what they are and being alive and well and happy at this point is a miracle.

I personally don't believe that some people get "the good cards". If you get to know someone really well AND they are willing to talk to you about the intimate details of their life, you'll find that EVERYONE has gotten some of those "bad cards". You just aren't aware of them. I found out when a friend was in her 60's, about something horrible that had happened to her, decades before. I was the first and only to learn of it because not everyone talks. She appears (to others) to have received only those "good cards".

i don't mind going through some tough times,
i just don't understand how people don't care enough for each other that we would have to hustle hard for something we can get for free if we lived as one..

Because life is complex even at it's most basic level. Everyday situations, objects or life events, no matter how simple they may appear are complicated and involved. Life consists of various cycles and these cycles interact and even collide making the intricate even more convoluted. These complexities require us to make tens of thousands of decisions daily, both conscious and subconscious. Even the simplest situations are fluid and complex beyond our understanding. Just enjoy the illusion of simplicity.
