    Yellow scorpions are not rare.

Yellow ground scorpions are native of North America and are widespread. With four pairs of legs, gold or yellow coloring, about three inches long and nocturne, the scorpions of Arizona are often found in backyards and even in the house. Knowing the difference between a deadly scorpion and a harmless one can save your life or protect your family. The yellow ground scorpion is often an occurrence in homes and its resemblance with the Arizona bark scorpion can cause panic and disorientation. http://local.answers.com/g/phoenix/desert-wildlife/identifying-the-yellow-ground-scorpion
