(My goodness are we living in very interesting times or what ? )Or do you think he will do what he wants to do because his worrier pride has been hurt, I think he will have to go to the Senate for approval, after him and his puppy dog follower kicked up a huge fuss when Mr Bush did the same thing for Irak Personally I don't think he cares, after all What is the worst that can happen to him, do not say the dreaded word dare I whisper the word GULP" Impeachment"  all the African Americans will simultaneously all bust a hernia. As a UK resident I was proud of the MPs who voted against this action, I say proud of them for the first time in my life, and I'm not as young as I used to be, we could still be caught in the middle of all this crap though.

Agreed, we have lost too many of our young people in Irak and Afghanistan for no good reason.

I think Mr Cameron could be starting to at last have a little bit of self preservation instinct kicking in, and at least seems to be reading the signs that most of this great country's mood is most definitely not on the side of helping a bunch of, at best fickle Arab people, who will not even lift a finger to help themselves, and will only pay lip service to those who are trying to help them, who will without hesitation, change sides at the drop of a hat, Well done Mr Cameron! "Now could we please stay out of it"? allow Arabs to sort out Arabs God bless you, cheers

Yes I think you are right there Roy, Even if they did as they say and just wipe out a few chemical weapon stores, ( which they would not stop at) the outcome could be far worse than they have at the moment. I think our MPs were right to vote against this one, for now at least.

There just does not seem to be a good end to bombing Syria. There is just too much corruption everywhere there. Take one out, another corrupt enters. The only good would be to see how well our weapons work . But you know, bomb them. Let them make the mistake of trying to do more damage so we can destroy all of them. Their leader is a coward. The world would be better without him and their terror. I really don't think Obama has the gonads to kill muslims. Where did all these chemical weapons come from ? Iraq , Iran ? Saddam Hussein , probably.

The Russians and the Chinese support the Syrian regime, this could be a BIG problem.

Full marks to you sir I agree, not only that it costs such a lot of money, However one must feel for the victims of their heinous crimes against their own people but usually what comes around goes around,PLEASE READ ON it appears to me that If the west does not intervene, will undoubtedly will leave the Arabs themselves in one heck of a mess, they now need to do something for themselves for a change. I also think they will freak out, because they are going if they are not very careful, end up with some war munge-ring bunch of killer neighbours,So let them put out their own political war fires for a change with their own money and let their young men die instead of ours. Whereas they usually just stand there and look wise and smiling condescendingly whilst collecting all the west's (our) money for oil, allowing our troops to die (laughing at our seemingly publicity hungry leaders) allowing arguably stupid the aforesaid western country's leaders like Cameron / Obama Who seem to be in it for the publicity and receiving accolades so their names will go down in the history books "what a good fellows are we" at the final analysis they will still need to sell their oil to us to fund their war with each other and Once the dust finally settles these storeys of who is to blame for the chemical attacks inevitably will surface and then let the retribution begin, I think the victims relatives will ensure that these stories will be told.

Brits don't want war nor do we. Syria is really no threat to the West. Killing is no solution. Kill one another appears. AND SUFFERERS ARE INNOCENT PEOPLE. USA stay out.

Staying out of a war in Syria is far better than sending our children into a blood-bath there. I prefer to see it from space.

Assad should be stopped now. This is not the first attack. Heard about 30 other attacks with this type weapons. This was used against unarmed civilians. USA is split against attacking Syria. He attacked people he feels threatened by, defenseless women and children. He is a coward . If no action , just shows he can get away with something else and no one will do anything. Obama said chemical weapons will not be tolerated, so he has to do something. There is no reason to kill these people like he did. Eliminate him now before he kills again.

I prefer to see him removed by his own people. That he continues to use gas on his own people can only mean they are not aware of what he is doing. The weapon of choice is the media, to inform the people of his actions. But are the people of Syria able to correspond via video conferencing, phone or whatever? Camera phones dropped into the area could cost-effectively communicate with enough people to get a ground view of what goes on. It is certainly cheaper than guessing at cruse missile targets considering their cost.

Let them send their own children to die for them the only time we should attack is when they attack us or Israel
    zorro

Nobody mentioned sending troops , just smart bombs.
    robert grist

“Smart Bombs” are necessary and useful in places like north Africa where ancient water holes need to be blown clear of debris so that rain can accumulate and bring in more rain to that arid region.
We need to find solutions to problems that do not involve the deaths of thousands of people to weaken an unpopular regime.
    zorro

What leader do you think of that used gas-chemicals to kill innocent people. . HITLER. Is that enough for you. He did several times , he will keep doing it. Eliminate him before he does it again.
    robert grist

I think Obama has the right answer. Obama holding the United Nations accountable for requiring military action on Syria…and they are squirming around trying to understand what do about the wedgie he has given all of the "no war" advocates and "yes war” advocates globally. Obviously the UN will have to resolve the issue since they we all made it. He is simply pointing out the ugly fact that we all agreed that using poison gas on your own people is a crime that everyone has agreed to take action on. Now there are international dissidents all over this seeking a solution…yes! We don’t need a war to make a villain pay for their crime. The World can , will and must commonly unite to resolve the issue.
    zorro

I don't think the world will do squat. Its who ever cares about the innocent children and women killed by this barbarian.

If anyone is expecting this to end on a satisfactory note, forget it. If we and others in the west don't get involved the Islamist in the north, backed by Iran, will almost surely win and wont that be a promising note in the middle east. Then it's on to Jordan, Turkey, and a host of other countries in that area. Oh, and when Saudi Arabia gets involved in a civil war, along with other oil producing countries then we can all park our cars and walk everywhere. Yeah, that's going to happen. Like I've said before, "money talks" and when it does all of these noble aspirations will fly right out the window. We in the west are the one's that constantly blather about human rights violations and basic human rights. But, what really motivates us is money and that is what will motivate us here. This has got to stop, we must respect human life, we are all brothers under the skin. Oh really, since when? Check your history!! At no time in the history of the world have we even appeared to learn from our past. But, as bad as that sounds we do make progress and we make progress because we do get involved in nasty situations, if we don't then the nasty situations just compound themselves and become more precarious for the rest of us. We make microscopic progress because we do try. So, when we let this situation resolve itself and the Islamist have taken the entire area and start even more terrorist attacks in the west let's not gasp and cover our mouths in horror like a massive collection of hypocrites.

It's a no win situation for the west, if we remove Assad, some other murdering weazle will take over, if we do nothing ( which I think we should for now) and see what the outcome of this so called agreement is we may have more of a reason to remove him and his murdering fools.
