      I saw a prog recently about Nigeria and they showed people making diesel fuel from plastic using a distillation technique which looked highly dangerous but allowed poor people to buy basic essentials for life.

        No plastic is a derivative of oil, not the other way round, if you set alight to it it will burn and be consumed.
