Some facts about Hinduism:
Originated in second millennium BCE
Founded the caste system.
Earliest scripture was the Rig Veda.
Other important Hindu texts - the Upanishads dating from approx 600 BCE.
Basically monotheistic, but many gods, each a reflection of the universal spirit.
Meditation and yoga important aspects of Hinduism.
