I found one solution on the internet that you can try:
Word has associated its self to the .pdf file. Here is your fix.
Right click on the file and select properties
Click the change button where it says to open with
Choose the adobe reader and press ok and apply. Source: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081010081937AAKES9I
If that does not help, you will have to contact Adobe support > http://helpx.adobe.com/support.html
