    No, that's what crossing over means to me. When a person dies, his/her soul exits the body and crosses over to heaven. Dying would have to originate the crossing over.

"While many religious traditions share a belief in an afterlife, the term "crossing over" is commonly used in a general, spiritual sense rather than being linked to a religious denomination or group." http://www.ehow.com/how-does_5541394_process-crossing-over.html The term was popularized by John Edwards, the person MCM's answer mentions.

    Didn;'t that guy on TV  named John Edwards  start that term ?  He had a show on in the early 2000s, by that name , that was very popular where he communicated with the dead loved ones of audience members. I think the name of his book was Crossing Over.
