    OK, since Martia is not coming back, the answer is bicycles. He was smuggling bicycles. ROMOS got the answer 2 months ago.

    Under the Schengen agreement there are no border controls between Spain and France nor many other European countries ( Not including the UK) so the question is meaningless.

    Absent a finding of smuggling by Customs, it has to be assumed he's smuggling nothing. How is this a brain teaser? What do you think would happen if you went into a store, was accused of shoplifting, arrested, but the store couldn't find anything that you "stole", and neither could anyone else?

    Obviously, if he is smuggling something it would have to be done on his trip from Spain to France.
