The conical jewel is really fascinating, a creative approach to running a power reserve indicator that link reminds link me of a fusee-and-chain system. While Greubel Forsey didn't give much information on how the system works – like link many other technical details – I'm going to take a stab at guessing how it works.

I've not worn a Timex M79 but as an owner link and frequent wearer of the Q Timex I can vouch for the basic case shape the M79 is a bit larger than the Q and the bracelet you see here.
