I could not find instructions for the l108 series. This is for the l100 series. Maybe they are similar.
Instructions

Ensure that the free-wheeling lever on the back of the mower, on the part of the chassis between the rear wheels, is pressed in. If this is not done, you may damage the mower's transmission when you start it.

Sit in the seat and disengage the mower blades by pulling the power take-off PTO switch (above the ignition) to the down position.

Press the brake pedal down and hold it and then lift the brake lever (on the left side of the operator's console) to lock the parking brake.

Set the transmission to the neutral position.

Turn the key to the starting position to start the mower. If the mower doesn't start, wait about ten seconds to try it again.
