The one he was known to have was taken away.
If he had it legally, it should have been returned after he was found innocent. There is so much more BS in the police departments than on the streets we "trust" them to protect.
He did not get it back. Eric Holder says he can not have the gun back because he is still investigating the possibility of a federal charge that this was a civil rights crime. For now, the gun remains as evidence of a potential crime.

The man has been acquitted of murder. What the (pick your expletive to delete) is going on!?
What's going on is a continued agenda to persecute an innocent man by the race baiters. Eric Holder and the DOJ that he heads are scrutinizing every minute detail of Zimmerman's life trying to find any tiny piece of "evidence" to prove he is a racist and killed Trayvon solely because he was black.
Talk about someone's civil rights being violated.... I'll call my ineffective senator (D. Feinstein, D/CA) and give her a piece of my mind to pass along to the DOJ. Apparently they are in need of a little more brain power.

If he wouldn't have had that gun, then Trayvon would still be alive. Lots of murders wouldn't have occured if the gun wasn't there.

If Trayvon had not attempted to murder Zimmerman, he would still be alive. If it weren't for the gun, Zimmerman would be dead from having his head bashed in on concrete. Lots of murders would not have happened if a knife, baseball bat, piano wire, axe, tire iron, bomb, car, gasoline, matches, lighter, etc were not there.
