            beauty is only skin-deep.

            Part of the integumentary system, along with hair follicles . You have two types of skin, the top layer (epidermis), and the lower layer (dermis). There are some other parts to this system, but I've forgotten.

              and the dermis contains nerves, blood vessels,etc. The deepest layer is the sub cutaneous layer. That's where they put in the syringe for a sub-q shot....unless it's given IM ---intra-muscular.
