akaQA began just over 2 years ago when a group of people decided to create it just to see if they could. They prefer to keep their identities private. The way they chose to promote it was to pay for ad space on certain browsers and pay to have an ask a question box put on popular social sites like Facebook. I do not think they still have an ask a question box on Facebook though.

You can not watch your house in live time. It is against privacy laws for homes to be videoed in live time. You will only be able to see an image that was taken sometime during the last 2 years and could even be 5 years old depending on where you are. You can use google maps or google earth to see it.
Me too! its all done through google and similar I have zoomed in to our place, but cant quite remember. Try google your Street and see what comes up ...
