    Turn on the electronic device you want to program. You can do this by using the "Power" button on the device or by using that specific remote control.

    Find the codes for that device. Each brand and model number is assigned a specific code. These codes can be found in the literature that comes with the universal remote, or you can find these codes online.

    Enter the code on the keypad. This tells the remote that you're programming that particular device into the remote. All functions necessary will automatically be programmed into the remote.

    Press the "Power" button on the universal remote to test. If the test is successful, go on to the next step. If there's an error, recheck your code to make sure you have the exact brand and model number.

    Repeat the above steps for all the devices you want to program.
