there is still a few around here in oz :-)

They still have a huge one in S.Florida at the Swap Shop. It's not quite as easy to see though because of the light pollution from the city. In the old days there wasn't so many street lights, you could still see the stars. But Yes, like the drive in.

    In a word No

Yes I do! we use to throw a couch in the back of my old Ford pickup. There are still a few in Ohio yet or there making a come back.

Hey JDB hope you had a wonderful birthaday my friend!

Yes I do. They were everywhere when I was a kid. Remember my mom and dad bringing a pillow and blanket for me because, being the youngest, I was always the first to fall asleep. That was such a long time ago. Fond memories.

    Fond memories yup I miss'em

I DRIVE BY ONE 20 FRI NITES A YEAR.I THINK ITS GONA HAPPEN BUT IT NEVER DOES.

Drive in movies bring them back.

I dont know, we never had them in England. Too bloody cold

I am still able to enjoy the drive in movies!! There is one about 45 minutes from me. I love the drive in. Best part is, you dont have to get all dolled up to go watch a movie. Eight bucks for 2(sometimes 3) movies is not bad at all!! Oh what memories I have as well from long ago :)

Yes I do. My parents would take me and my two brothers and before the movie we played on the swings and the small playground located just under the screen. The intermission where people would get out of their cars and go to the concession stand for hotdogs or popcorn. When it was a scary movie, The Blob, The Thing, Invasion from outer space, my little brother and I would hide in the back floorboard of the car and cry our little hearts out. It was a great time. On the way home after the movie The Blob, we passed a lot of hedge apples on the side of the road and my brother and I thought it was the blob taking over the earth. Ah yes. Memories :)

Hey skychaser I know the 1951 on your icon represents the year you were born plus I can tell obviously by the movies you speak of. Brings back some cool memories. Me, I was born 1949 so you are a 'youngun" in my book (:

not to mention the foggy windows, lol

I always enjoyed them growing up, on weekends they would show 4 or 5 movies for an all-nighter at the drive in, but in this day and time especially in the big cities it is hard to find an area dark enough to see the movie clearly. I'm afraid they are going to be left in the past and only in our memories.
