    Is speaking English a qualification to be a citizen?

    In order to pass the citizenship test, you need to have a working knowledge of English. This doesn't mean you have to be fluent, but you have to be able to understand English well enough to take the test.

    it should be if you intend on living in your new country, and english is there first language. if you cant answer the citizen exam questions and sing the anthem you wont be any use to anyone.How do you order a beer,or abuse someone when they cut you off in traffic.GOOD LUCK
