        a strangulated hernia means a loop of your bowel has come out thru your  abdominal wall and has become twisted, so that no blood or nourishment, or oxygen can get to that twisted up part of your bowel. Therefore, the bowel can become gangrene, and kill you, if you don't get it fixed as soon as possible.
