I really don't need to understand him. I'll just look at him, while he talks to me. lol

I believe mostly if not entirely by tips. Some pro golfers have their own caddies. When i was a kid, we had a choice in the summer, cut grass, set bowling pins or carry a golf bag for 9 to 18 holes. The caddy paid the best but there was always a waiting list.

Most pro golfers have their own caddies and some caddies earn more in a year than the golfer does. It's much different now than it was "way back" in your day, Vinny. :)

I know-- You're saying pretty much what i said. Here in ca, some of the finest hotels/restaurants, the waiter/servers and bellboys, (or lobby assistants) must get in line for a job that the hotel doesn't pay, they make their living entirely on gratuities. also, 20% of their tip earnings go to the hotel.. they pay the hotel for the privilege to work there. Only thing the restaurant/hotel supplies is uniforms. My son has a friend, now in Japan but he worked as a bellboy for years in San Francisco, his average monthly was 10k, and this is about 20 years ago. But then, the homeless on the streets of san Francisco can pull in 500+ per night from tourists. Lots of them get busted but many don't.

And are the "homeless" really homeless? I think at least some of them, have simply "learned a trade". :(
    Vinny

exactly!! They did a TV special here a few years ago with investigative team, they posed as homeless in san Francisco for 2 months, there were 4 of them, they rented an apartment (paid for) In two months, they were able to collect over 16,000 between the 4 of them-- and they didn't work that hard at it.. So, based on this, one person (homeless) could make upto 30K per year or more, and ontop this, g'ment subsidies, food stamps, medical and whatever else they can scoop up. My only question is.. What do they do with the money?? Drugs?? if so, they would be too high to work the streets. i dunno..

It all makes people who COULD help others and WOULD help others, very cynical, doesn't it?
    Vinny

Of course it does, but nothing will be done about it, if people want to give money away, its their choice, if people want to accept this money, how can you blame them? Its not illegal, although some of them when playing the part of homeless are an embarrassment to the real homeless people.

Exactly. "Playing a part" is pathetic.
