    Can I scan in a different format than pdf such as jpg  with a Brother MFC J430W

      A scan goes to your computer as a scan, you can save it to any format you want by finding the scan in your computer, right clicking on the file and selecting "save as" from the options. Then choose the format you want to save it to.
