Precor is a company that produces fitness equipment such as treadmills, elliptical machines and exercise bicycles. You can use any of these exercise devices to help improve your health and aerobic fitness. One way you can monitor your current fitness and workout intensity is with a heart rate monitor. To use a heart rate monitor with your Precor fitness equipment, you need a Polar brand heart rate monitor and a Precor machine with the Precor Heart Rate Option included.
Step 1
Dampen your heart rate monitor transmitter with a lightly wet cloth to increase the electrical conductivity between your skin and the transmitter.

Step 2
Secure the heart rate monitor strap around your chest; the transmitter centered on your breast bone.
Step 3
Turn on your Precor fitness equipment.
Step 4
Scroll through the machines display options until the menu shows heart rate and your heart rate is displayed in the console.
