is that the same as board feet

we are selling cedar trees and a guy said he would give us so much $ per board foot.  so if one of our trees are 10 inches in diameter and 10 foot long how would I figure the amount?  Just by the length?

Call him back and ask him to do the conversion for you. There is a mathematics formula for this but I do not remember what it is. I believe it would be length by diameter in which case you have to convert the diameter to feet. He should know how to do this.

it depends on how much he plans on paying per board foot
