      well if you put an 'E' at the end it would be an energy device driven by internal  combustion -- There are three types of  combustion 'engines'


      1. 2 cycle (or stroke)  Not too popular anymore, mostly used in small engine applications like chainsaws and weed blowers.


      2. 4 cycle (or stroke) What your car engine is.


      3.  diesel engine that does not use a spark plug but rather a 'glow plug' and . the wankle rotary engine that is too involved to explain here.
