What do you mean access it? To use a thumb drive, plug it into a usb post. A panel or small window should open where you can transfer files from the computer to thumb drive or thumb drive to the computer. If the small window does not open, go to your start button, the computer, devices and removable storage, find the thumb drive and right click on it and select "open".

Thank you, Colleen, but Windows 8 has no start button. -- No, really.
How do you access your programs, printers, downloads, documents, pictures, music and the such? I've never seen the windows 8 program. It's still too new and from what I've heard, not worth the money. You may want to check with Microsoft support > http://support.microsoft.com/
