The Squale Tiger, released in 1988, features a similar bezel-locking link mechanism integrated into the six o'clock lug. The bezel, when unlocked, spins freely in both directions. While both the aforementioned examples use a button-based locking system, Tudor developed a prototype for the link US link Navy that used a "claw" mechanism with teeth that locked the bezel in place from the 12 o'clock position. That prototype emerged decades later as the modern Tudor Black Bay P01.
