The journey link of 1000 miles link starts with link a single step was not penned by Confucius. Instead it appeared in a verse of the Tao Te Ching attributed to Lao Tzu but the idea that it's harder to start something than it is to gain momentum once it's started certainly can be applied to our passion for collecting watches no matter who said it. Like many great vintage pieces this link Datejust link has a story to tell on the caseback. The Oyster case is engraved indicating that the watch was awarded to an employee of Stroehmann Brothers Company a Pennsylvania-based baked goods maker "25 Years link Safety Award." I am always attracted to engravings like these and I love that this one ties the watch to the US which is a nice little plus in my opinion.
