      It should pop up a window on your computer showing the files in it. All thumb drives are different. But all the new ones today are plug and play. They come with their own instructions.

        if you don't get the popup, look in your drives section under start [computer] look for 'removable drives' Click on that and it will probably open your thumb drive.   This is of course with the assumption you are using PC and not an Apple product.  I know nothing about apples.
