    Why does it take so long to get a GREEN CARD'?

    My wife entered the USA on a K1 Visa. We applied for the adjustment of status a year ago but so far she has not received her 'Green Card'.

      It can take 3-5 years. There's a lot of people in line and a lot of checking to do for each application and not enough agents to do all the work.
