Get out of your house, don't isolate yourself. Join some kind of sports club or take lessons in whatever you like: languages, arts, crafts, anything. Shared interests are a good basis for further contact. Or, if you are religious, get into some church group that gathers regularly. Also, you could become a volunteer for a cause you find worthy.
