Detach the sparkplug wire or unplug the unit from the electrical source. Place the trimmer on a flat area for easy access.

Remove the bump knob or spool cap to access the inner reel. Remove all old trimmer line before beginning to rewind the new line.

Measure six to eight feet of replacement trimmer line. Place the end of the line into the slot in the inner spool and wind in the direction noted on the spool. Stop winding with about six inches remaining.

Thread the line through the eyelet in the outer hub and place the inner spool in the outer hub. Secure it in place by replacing the spool cap and bump knob.

Restore power to the unit.
