      Well, Hector, since He promised to never leave me or forsake me I believe even though I may be flat on my face in failure and despair, if I will call upon Him He is faithful to who He is and  will save and strengthen me to rise again. In the Greek the real interpretation of "Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find and knock and the door shall be opened unto you." It actually says... and I love the added dimension that you can glean from  the verb tense in the Greek text.. "Keep on asking and you shall receive, keep on seeking and you shall find, keep on knocking and the door shall be opened unto you."  In my humble paraphrase... Never give up on God for He will never give up on you. and it does not mean that  we can demand our own will and still be blessed but the TRUST in His will and to understand His wisdom so we can comprehend His love for us and become like Him is the quest behind preserving with God. I thank God for His perseverance with me,.

        Well I suppose that is true, because if you work hard at something you normaly see the outcome as a reward, ie you reap what you sow.

          I  Rode motorcycles for maney years,and always said a little thing in my head to arrive safe,it seem to work all the time,except for a few bruises on one occassion,Racining Road and Trails,

            Yes. I bowl, and concentrate fiercely on each shot. I know, without a doubt, that God graces many of my attempts with success. I know I have nothing without Him.


            If you believe the proverbial saying, you know each blessing is a gift from God. Failures? That's when you take a detour from the road God planned for you. It is not punishment; it is a result of the freedom you have to choose your path.


            Choose your paths with prayer and care. We do not have the chance to go back and try something differently and call it the first time.

              I believe like you do, but I thank God for the story of Samson in the bible. Even though Samson did many great and mighty things in his life he made some tragic decisions that cost him everything. But, God is the God of the unfaithful, too, and is able to give a last chance to glorify God as He did for Samson at the very end of his life when all hope was gone.
              When the decuples realized how impossible salvation really was they ask the Lord, "Who then can be saved? With men it is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

              My father used to say that.God helps those who help themselves.But god help those who get caught helping themselves as well.:)

                This is very funny!! and I am glad for your theology and believe in a God who hears every word of this kind of prayer for justice and mercy. And actually the bible says "...cursed is the man who trust in the arm of flesh..Jer.17:5 and Prov.28:26 says "the man who trust in himself is a fool." And God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." James 4:6
