Make sure you are following all these steps:
Change numbers
Select Menu > Contacts > Speed dials (or Speed dialling or More > Speed dials).
Scroll to the entry you wish to change and select Options > Change. You are asked to confirm the change.
Enter the new number and select OK, then enter a name for the number and select OK.
OR
Select Search to retrieve a number from contacts.

Pythonlover moved Debbycats comment to Colleen >>>Thanks for this. The problem is that when I try to do this, the "options, change" does not come up on the screen. The only thing it lets me do is go "back" or ring the number.
