Check the ignition module, or ignition coil. Either one could be going bad. There may be a wiring problem also. Check the distributor cap, make sure it's not cracked or corroded, and check the rotor too. If those are both OK, have the coil and ignition module tested. If you have an Autozone near you, they will test both for free.
