Are there different accents in various areas of Australia, like there are in the U.S.?

For instance, we have southern accents and Boston accents.

I like Aussie accents!! I don't like the spiders in Aussiland though.spiders scare me and there's one billion spiders per Aussie down there.. ACK!!

With all the movies coming out of Australia I have learned to pick up different slangs and intonations in the speech delivery. They are identifiable if you listen. Only problem I have with it is the steering wheel is on the wrong side! LOL!!! I don't think I could drive there.
