      Causes
      1. many factory workers left the factories to serve in World War 1 therefore leaving vacancy in the factories
      2. many strikes took place because of high taxes and low wage
      3. over 85% of Russians were peasants and very poor
      4. dictatorship of Czar Nicholas II
      5. the army of Russia fell apart due to insufficent funds


      Effects
      1. end of an autocratic rule
      2. educational reforms
      3. establishment of a socialist government
      4. withdrawal of Russia from World War I
      5. increased global tensions
