1 Answer
Things You'll Need
Jack
Jack stands
Tire iron
3/8-inch ratchet and socket set
Open-end wrench set
Instructions
1
Use the jack to lift the rear of the Civic and then put it on jack stands. Unbolt the wheels and tires using the tire iron and set them to the side.
2
Unbolt the factory lower control arm from the trailing arm on the suspension using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. This trailing arm is where the brake attaches to the suspension, so it's quite large. If accessibility is an issue, use an open-end wrench.
3
Disconnect the strut from the lower control arm using an open-end wrench and the ratchet. Then unbolt the last segment of the lower control arm from the center of the body using the ratchet. Pull the control arm out of the suspension and place it to the side.
