          ISLAM is a religion of peace. Followers of Islam are over billion people all over the world. Unfortunately it has been misunderstood out of ignorance and actions of some individuals who DO NOT REPRESENT ISLAM. It is an Abrahamic  religion much like Christianity and Judaism.
