Here's another suggestion:
The end where the hoses attach to the washer is an electrical switch. They can go bad. They can get stuck closed and thus water will not be allowed to flow into the washer. These switches are easily replaced. Just unplug the washer disconnect the hoses and get your tools out. It should be removable from the back.
