    What is meant by sterile St. Augustine Grass seed?

    Someone said that St. Augustine grass seed is sterile. What does sterile mean with grass seed?

    Not positive but I understand that means it was grown for market and no other grass seed was used in that process. In other words it's a virgin seed.......lol
    It means that it will not regerminate. St. Augustine is a very invasive grass. It throws out runners and will just about climb a tree.
