It starts in Omega, then shifts to Delta then becomes a star as it rockets along at light year speed.
While the motor will run in either star or delta, it will draw 3 times as much current in delta as it does in star, and will develop 3 times more torque (and power) in delta compared to star. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Should_a_3_phase_motor_run_on_star_or_delta
