    It's called a question without a subject.

    It's called a dash, a minus sign or a hyphen

    It depends on how it is used.
    As a "dash", it would separate thoughts, much as a period or semi-colon.
    As a hyphen, it separates two words that, when joined, are NOT a compound word, much as a "semi-colon"
    As a "minus sign", it indicates the operation of subtraction in math.   57 - 12 (which represents 45).
