Do you mean an alert tone? Which e-mail provider do you use?
I just saw your tag...e-mail video. This would be a problem with the video player that us used to open the video.

Thanks Colleen... I am using Yahoo. The sound was OK when I rec'd videos, & I somehow lost it. I do have computer sound as well as sound from news.
Sorry, I wish I could help but according to my computer, my sound is OK and working yet I can only get sound if I plug in my headset. My guess is a mother board issue. So, I will have to take my computer to a computer tech. You may have to do the same.
