Unless you know who his commanding officer is and can contact the CO or you are a family member, it is difficult to find out the names of the service people currently serving in the military. There is no grand list to check. If you are asking because you've met someone on line and he told you he is a soldier serving over seas, the odds are high that this is a scam. If he starts asking you for money, run. If he is asking you for a place to stay when his tour is up, run. By the way, it's spelled Afghanistan.
