    central heating fine but hot water only warm and cuts out

    Explain more about your system and perhaps we have someone who can try to help.  The maker and model of the boiler.  Is it a tankless hot water system?  Do you have a separate hot water heater?  That information is needed.

    its an ideal + year old combi has a fault display but not showing fault water pressure up and gas supply is right

    I am not a heating contractor, however, if it is just over a year, I would call the company, maybe it is still warranted? Maybe a plumber visits this site and can help you further... Good luck.

    check the heating elements. that could be your problem, it was mine! they should be able to pop out. take them to a hardware store.
