    Funny California Humor

Not a question but interesting.  With all the gun control talk and paranoia, I found this amusing.

A local village here in CA not far from me has a new gun shop. (Templar Sports) Of course, when a new business comes to town, the city council must approve before it can open for business, it was approved. Now, the locals are very upset that there is a business in their quaint little town that promotes violence, they want it gone, several council meetings with the local public there to protest the emergence of such a violent business that sells guns.  So bad they hate this idea that one of them threatened to kill the owner and his family if they don't move out of their peaceful village.

Now I don't know about you but i find this ironic,  not to mention humorous and hypocritical.

    Ironic, hypocritical and SAD!

Did you know that is 'all' of these mass killings, the killer's political views were in fact liberal. Strange. All of this hypocrisy and what seems to conservatives as idiotic is slowly making sense to me. I don't agree with them by far but I know what they are doing, I understand the push behind it, It's all about manipulation.

Government, media, they're all bloody at it,always been that way, shame that the majority buy into it.

At least there was only one of them.
Vinny, what would happen if there was a gun shop in Santa Cruz? Very liberal students there who attend University of California at Santa Cruz.  Another place, Carmel. There are many places in your vicinity. Oh, Berkeley! where stands the Univeristy of California at Berkeley.

    Vinny

Well its not far from there, 'Los gatos' About 12 miles from Santa Cruz.

The liberals were all crying to have the NRA people either shot or hung. For people against gun violence, they all seem pretty violent.

I joined the NRA 2 weeks ago. I don't even own a gun other than a matched presentation colt derringers that are collectors and a pellet pistol I bought 40 years ago. It has nothing to do with me owning, it does have to do with me doing my part to protect the rights of others.

The whole thing really is strange. It's like they are detached from reality. I've always been fascinated with guns and have occasionally though of buying one. The only reason I haven't is that I am afraid I'll shoot myself, being the clumsy person that I am.

Good decision, if you have any doubts of yourself owning then you are a very smart person by not owning and believing in your instinct. I used to have guns, many of them but gave them all up when I realized I had a temper and might resort to guns. Also, I was a witness to the shooting ability of a mass killer that murdered 11 members of his own family in a trial back in 1975. That ordeal has been with me all my life. Here you can read about it- I am the one testifying on his shooting skills.

See for me, that would be more of a reason for me to own a gun. Maybe someday I would have the chance to stop a madman like that. Growing up on a farm, my father had shotguns. A shot gun is a must for a farmer. We were taught gun safety and knew never to touch the gun without permission. 8 kids and we all respect the gun, all have guns and never have shot anyone. I guess it's all how you view the gun. Is it alive or is it an inanimate object that takes a mentally sick person to use it to kill someone with?

I agree! I just don't understand the reason for new laws when there are already 22,000 laws on the books with the word gun mentioned. What is even sillier is that they seem to think that laws work! Laws are for decent law abiding citizens, not criminals. Why is there this confusion? Where is the common sense 'unless'--this is phase one of elimination all guns in the USA, at that time they will do what Hitler did and come into your home and confiscate all firearms. Sometimes you just gotta think outside the box to find your answer.

Shall I use the word "bang!" here? ;)

    You got it.

I love how they point at other countries and marvel...look at them! They are gun free!
Well good for them. If that's what you want, then move the heck over there!

Gun free Mexico is in a heck of a mess. Their civilians keep getting massacred by the banditos running around with guns that they got from the US government.
