    Are the highstreet shops historic relics,

    They are in my town, HMV(a huge store here) has 2 more days before it closes for good, even McDonalds closed their High St store down here, sign of the times I suppose, you can buy anything in the supermarkets here, even "horse burgers" now.

    Not so much "car parks" though.

    The main town where I live has shops closing left right and centre, but the small town where I work in a shop part tim, still has most of their shops, thats because the local people use them. The only way to keep them is to use them, otherwise a few more years and there will be no small shops and hardley any small businesses.
